Disney Cruise Line's history began in 1985 with a partnership between Disney and Premier Cruise Line, offering combined cruise and theme park packages. The Big Red Boat (a Premier Cruise ship) provided short Bahamas cruises with Disney characters from Port Canaveral, Florida. In 1996, Disney Cruise Line was incorporated as a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, launching with its first ship, the Disney Magic, in 1998.
The Disney Cruise Line fleet currently consists of five ships, each with its own personality and charm. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are smaller ships, with a capacity of around 2,700 passengers. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, on the other hand, are larger ships, with a capacity of around 4,000 passengers. The Disney Wish, along with the future Disney Treasure, are the largest and most technologically advanced ships in the fleet.
